Just like Astuteone said, I am also wondering. Even here in Hawaii, it doesn't seem like its that bid of a deal anymore. I feel that within the next 50 years there will not be anyone that remembers or cares.

ugh...we had the pearl harbor thing all over the local news... as a Japanese, i am sorry...i hate this day... all i can say is that...that was back then..and that was a war...and both parties suffered... i had a story from my grandma, she used to had a lot of nice kimonos, but she went to sell them, so she could get some food on the table... my mom was 13, when the war ended...her school was under air strike, and they went run into a bunker...she was the second from the last...and last one, she never made it...she died right out side of the bunker door...true story from my mother... ya...just sorry...

I did not know this story about your parents getting married... that is nice. Pearl Harbor Day.... sigh. The atrocities that one set of people perpetrated on another set. I can well imagine that witnessing it would make you never forget it. Nowadays, many feel that way towards 9/11 and the towers hit and then on fire and then collapsing. Somber reflection. my parents married on Pearl harbor day too! I think Da chose it so he would remember it easily. tbh. Mama wanted a winter wedding. You cannot conceive the many without the one.

my family has been in Hawaii since 1934- my mom and uncle watched this happen- when my uncle was old enough he worked a civilian worker there- my mom went to nursing school and worked at Hickam and Schofield - as kids in the early 50's we would hike up to the crashed zeros and pretend to fly them- but we were attacking the japs- I moved to the south pacific at about 11- Solomon islands - Philippines- I did learn a dark side- look up unit 731-
